About me
Mr. Shinya Watanabe is an epidemiologist at the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) in Japan. He conducts pharmacoepidemiological studies using medical information databases, such as the National Database of Health Insurance Claims and Specific Health Checkups of Japan (NDB) and MID-NET®, to gain insights for regulatory decision-making. Additionally, he provides scientific reviews and advice on post-marketing database study protocols as a regulatory officer. He holds a Master of Engineering degree from Chuo University, where he specialized in biostatistics and epidemiology.
