About me
Jim is a senior data scientist at Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC), where he has worked for the past 4 years. In that time, Jim has worked on several projects including advanced signal detection methods, tools to facilitate analysis of large case series and NLP methods for mining structured product labels. For the past year, Jim’s focus has been the problem of duplicate detection for individual case safety reports. He has been working on developing and expanding UMC’s duplicate detection algorithm. Jim holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Birmingham, UK and has 2 years’ experience in software development in an AI R&D team at Klarna in Stockholm, Sweden
