About me
Andrew Thomson is a statistician with over 18 years in the European regulatory system. He is currently in the taskforce dedicated to Data, Analytics and Methodology at the European Medicines Agency. He provides methodological advice and guidance across all stages of development, and across all therapeutic areas and is the lead scientific secretariat of the Methodology Working Party. He was the Regulatory Chair of ICH E11A on paediatric extrapolation, and currently has the same role on ICH E6 R3 Annex 2, for trials focusing on pragmatic and decentralised elements, and utilising real-world evidence. Before joining EMA, he held various positions at MHRA, the UK regulator, including Senior Statistical Assessor and Head of Epidemiology
